Jour D' Indépendance

The Farrar family (minus Monica) and the Tachers headed up to Kayak Point on the Tulalip Reservation for the 4th. This tradition has existed in the family for more than a decade - even when it rains. My parents invited several families from their ward - so there was quite a crowd. I have been to Kayak Point at least 50 times and the last couple of times we have spotted Bald Eagles. So it was only fitting that we saw a couple yesterday. Pretty much the ultimate symbol of the day. I think the best part was the fact that the weather was so nice.

Boo and his new friend Caden Vance

Lisa and I got pretty lazy after we got home from the beach. So while everyone else in Seattle was at Gasworks Park, we were home enjoying the WAMU Family Fourth on TV. In the process we decided we would rate the television broadcasts of various fireworks shows.

The KING 5 broadcast of the WAMU Family 4th. While the fireworks were really good - the "post game" commentary by Lori and Dennis was equally as entertaining.

This next 2 photos were from our neighbors - don't worry the show went until around 1 AM.

By far the lamest of the broadcasts - 4th of Jul-Ivars on KOMO.

The Boston Pops 4th of July on CBS. While this broadcast was from Boston, it was by far the best of the shows. The music and the fireworks were awesome.

Going through stuff

With our move coming, I needed to move some boxes that were stored at my Grandma Adeline's over to our house. In the process of moving them, I decided to go through these treasure chests. And boy did I find some gems - here's a little peak at the goodies.

Amy Meisner. I apparently missed the boat on this one. This was from my senior year book - she was the only person from my school to sign it. I have no clue why - we may have been in french class together. Her photo is below.
John - in her note, she referenced something about you and driving by your house with Robbie Ann.
