Kampala and nearby--Some pictures

Enjoy some pictures from around Kampala and Ssezibwa Falls from the past couple of weeks.

From the top of tank hill--we ate at a cafe with this view

Marcia and I at the cafe

Malaria pills: case and point! This is what my leg looked like after we ate dinner at the cafe (unfortunately, I wasn't the only one enjoying my meal). I was even covered in bug spray (98% deet). This is why one takes medicine to prevent malaria.

The very nice family from Nigeria I ate dinner with last week--CUTE baby girl!

Sometimes when you live in Uganda, you get really thirsty.

A view of downtown Kampala from my meeting at the Public Health Laboratory--

On the road to Ssezibwa Falls--just in case we need a chair

More from the roadside

Along our hike to the top of the falls. We had a very nice tour guide named Christopher.

The view from the top of Ssezibwa Falls.

(L to R) Christopher, Marcia, and Glen on our tour around the park.

The falls from a distance.

Falls a bit closer-up.

Downstream.

A nearby house.

A matoke (banana/plantain) truck on the way home from the falls.

The market where we stopped to get some refreshment before our drive home.

A funny sign on the way home...one of my favourite passtimes when traveling around is reading all of the roadsigns and advertisements. Some can be quite amusing.
