Backyard Tourism
I've never felt such a strong affinity for OJ while watching baseball before...
Jacob's eye waiting anxiously for the game to start
The rest of Jacob waiting for the game (we arrived very early to make parking MUCH easier--the seats were filled closer to the start of the game) We stayed at a bed and breakfast in the heart of the waterfront. The room was nice, but I think it was designed for much taller people. Luckily they provided a stool to assist in getting into bed.
We were within walking distance to the pier, the local art museum, and several different shops. A lot of people rent bikes or scooters to explore here as well. Here are some of the local boats.
After exploring the waterfront and eating some lunch, we decided to go to the Salvador Dali museum.
I've had a fascination with Dali since doing a report on him in 5th grade. Here's me and Sal posing for a picture.
Even the benches are surreal at the Dali museum...
Our host at the bed and breakfast offered us free tickets to Saturday night's Rays game so decided to make the most of it while we were there. After we arrived, we discovered it was also the Festival Latino which meant that most of the game commentary was done in Spanish. After an eventful weekend, we stopped at the beach before heading home to Orlando. I had no idea how warm the water would be. Definitely coming back with my swimsuit.

Fun!
I've been to St.Petersburg too. It looked different when I was there, though. More Russians.
Great post! I like Lisa being added to the blog.
St Petersburg?! When are you guys heading up the Georgia way? I bought a house....plenty of room for visitors....
Good to know Lisa is the only wife you have out there.
Hi Lisa. I hope we meet someday. Thanks for the update!
